Udpate

Good Evening Friends and Family.

As many of you know, we are in the process of adopting 2 children from the Ukraine.

We have worked very, very hard since committing to the adoption in the end of June.

Completing a double adoption like this is a costly process. We had an initial bill of $35,500.

In these short few months we have done several things and I wanted to be sure to update you on our status...

We have had 2 bake sales,

done a car wash,

Car hopped at Sonic,

Flapjack fundraiser at Applebee's,

Gourmet Popcorn Sales,

Dinner and Silent Auction,

Puzzle Fundraiser,

Gourmet Lollipop Sales,

Sewing projects,

3 Garage sales,

Family Photo shoot Fundraiser,

Zumbathon,

Give back Nights at Andy Alligators,

Give back nights / serving at Van's Pig Stand,

Making and selling Homemade Pumpkin Pies,

Arbonne Sales,

Scentsy Fundraiser,

Partnering with other friends that are making goods and donating proceeds.

We have been able to raise $16,863.00 from all of the above events.

This leaves us a balance to be raised in the next 8 days of $18,637.00.

International adoptions are a legnthy, red tapey (is that even a word) and costly process. But, can you really put a price on a child's life? We have always had a heart for the fatherless and have known we'd adopt for years. God has blessed our every step and cleared the way when there seemed to be no way. We still have a long road ahed of us as we travel accross the world to get our children and welcome them into our family this next week.

We know he hasn't called us and brought us this far to leave us. We know all of the Cattle on a thousand hills are HIS and that as much as we care for and LOVE these kids that he LOVES them even MORE and he wants them here with us just as we do!

The Bible says he sets the lonely in families in Psalm 68:6. We have learned to trust him more and lean on him for our EVERY need as we've gone through this process. We have seen our children's faith and love for God grow as they see each and every miracle he sends our way.

God gave us two scriptures when we began this process and we cling tight to them every day. James 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress.. and Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. We claim these scriptures over our children and our family.

God has also confirmed his plans for us in this adoption several times throughout the process and the one that I just have to share is this.. Isaiah 43:5 - I read this on a day that we were really struggling and again this last Sunday as the stress and worry of the financial burden was laying heavy on us .. it brings me to tears every time .. it says this...Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. Isn't our God great???

So, why have I sent you this?

We need YOUR help.

We need your prayers.

Please, take the time to pray for our family and the finances to be provided so we can go get our children this next week.

We don't want to even think about what will happen if we don't raise this money because it would break so many many hearts. Including those of our current 3 children, our 2 new children that are waiting for us and dreaming of having a family of their own that loves them and wants them so badly and lastly our hearts.

Please prayerfully consider what your part is in helping save these children.

100% TAX DEDUCTABLE Donations can be done on our blog by clicking on our son's picture on the left side of the blog http://NewHornerFamily.blogspot.com and will be completed through Eli Project, a ministry of FBC Moore.

We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to read this and pray about what God would have you do to help the least of these.

What better gift could you give this year than the gift of life,

a godly, loving family, hope and future?

Thank you.

Thanksgiving...

Thanksgiving!

One of the greatest holidays of the year in my opinion!

LOTS OF FOOD!
FAMILY!!

FRIENDS!!

NAPS!!

MORE FOOD!!
RELAXATION!!!

LAUGHTER!!

GAMES!!
Those were some of the things I enjoyed yesterday..
I was so happy to see and be with family.
Eating all that yummy food and just enjoying the company of those that we love.

On the inside I was breaking.

As I sat down with my overflowing plate in hand and looked around the room at everyone smiling and enjoying the feast... I began to think about the two children who were not there with us.

My eyes welled up with tears and my heart broke.

My poor children of the heart and many many others across this world are in an orphanage....
no family...
no feast..
no playing with cousins...
no hugs from Mommy and Daddy....
No lovins from Nana and Pop Pop...
No Aunts and Uncles..
NO ONE.....

I looked down at my plate overflowing with food -
some of which I never even made it thru and remembered what
my children overseas are eating..

Buckwheat...
Fish...
Buckwheat...
Fish...
Buckwheat ....
Fish...

Three times a day...
Buckwheat..

Here I was with everything my little belly could desire and more and there they are ....

Black Friday..

Today is a fun day for many who are out and about
shopping away,
finding great "deals" and getting those much "needed"
Christmas gifts.

I think about how much is being spent on things that will simply be lost or forgotten.
Broken or tossed to the side.

I remember that this is how many children feel..

My children.

Orphans.

Some have been simply forgotten...
thrown by the wayside...
broken..
alone..

YOU have the opportunity to CHANGE this picture for two children!

We may not be able to make a difference for everyone in the world,
but for that ONE or TWO that we can..
we CAN make a world of Difference for them!

Two lives CAN BE SAVED!

YOU CAN HELP!

Not everyone is called to adopt...

EVERYONE IS CALLED TO CARE FOR THE ORPHANS - JAMES 1:27

You may not be able to adopt.

You may not be able to foster.

Are you able to spare a coffee?

Are you able to give up a meal out on the town?

Yes.

We all can give up something that little and make a difference!!

You don't have to have millions of dollars or even thousands of dollars to donate -

If you do by all means do it and see the rewards God has in store for you by obeying him!

You can skip that coffee and have $5 to donate.

You can not eat out tonight and save $30 to $50 or more!!

You can donate that "small" amount and MAKE A DIFFERENCE in the life of 2 children who currently have nothing to call their own.

No family.
No clothing.
No toys.
NO LOVE
NO HOPE
NO FUTURE

YOU CAN HELP CHANGE THIS PICTURE!!
Let me remind you what happens to these children as they age out of the orphanage system...

The statistics will amaze you:

1. There are over 100,000 orphans in Ukraine.

2. The older an orphan gets, the chances for his/her adoption drastically decrease.

3. Each year many orphans between 15 to 18-years-old leave the orphanages.

4. Most of these orphans have no one to turn to for help.

5. 10% of them will commit suicide after leaving the orphanage before their eighteenth birthday.

6. 60% of the girls will end up in prostitution

7. 70% of the boys will enter a life of crime

8. Only 27% of these youth will find work

What do these orphans need.. in their own words...

1. Someone to trust

2. A person who is committed to help them

3. A flat – place to live

4. “Someone to hold my hand”

5. Moral support of friends

6. God’s help

7. Moral support, not just clothes

8. To learn to be independent

And what was the most painful thing about being an orphan?

To listen to people their own age talk about their family life.

We can be that family!

We can love these kids!

We can point these children to God!

We can care for and provide for these children!

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Please!

Please PRAY and please GIVE according to what God has blessed you with.

Please help us save these children.

If you are a parent you know the love that is formed in your heart as you
or your wife carries your child in her womb.

We have had that love grow in our hearts for OUR children.

They may not be children of our womb...

They are children of our heart.

WE ALL ARE ADOPTED!

If you have accepted Christ as your savior and your Lord,

YOU ARE ADOPTED!

We love these children and want so badly to bring them home.

We can't do it alone.

God has blessed our every step thus far and has provided so much.

We still have a significant financial burden that MUST be met.

We are now down to $18,637.00

Meaning we have raised with God's help and your willing hearts to obey him...

$16,863.00

We are almost half way there financially...

We leave to get them NEXT SUNDAY.

That is 9 days away.

How are we going to get this money?

God only knows.

God KNOWS those he has called to help save these children.
God knows the hearts he will or has stirred to give.

Let's break this down a little bit.

$18,637.00

that is 18 people giving $1000.00 each and one person to give $637.00

OR

it could be 37 people giving $500 and one person giving $137.00

OR

it could be 74 people giving $250.00 and one person giving $137.00

OR

it could be 186 people giving $100.00 and one person giving $37.00

OR

Maybe just maybe you can give it all.

God has blessed us all in order for us to be a blessing.

Can you think of a better gift to give than the gift of love, hope, family, future?

I can't.

All I want for Christmas is my family together at last.

Please help make this wish come true.

You will be blessed.

Think about those statistics above...

what if YOUR child was on a path that would land them a spot in one of those categories?

Two of mine are.

Won't you help us save them?

A HUGE THANK YOU TO CHICK-FIL-A OF MOORE FOR HELPING US!!!!

Don't know about the puzzle fundraiser???

We shopped all around and found a puzzle we all really like called "Old Glory" The neat thing about this puzzle is that it is a photomosaic.. meaning it is a big picture made up of many smaller pictures of things that happen here in the US. It is a perfect example of all the love and lovely things the kids will experience here in the US and is also a symbol of the freedom they are receiving by coming to America and their forever Family with us! :)

It has 1000 pieces. For every $10 donated to the Puzzle Fundraiser we will put 1 piece in the puzzle. We will be posting pictures of the progress every so often. When we have enough donations to finish the puzzle we will have raised $10,000 towards Adrian and Ava's Adoption and we will have the finished puzzle posted on our website.

Every $10 donation for a puzzle piece will have the name of the person donating written on the back of the puzzle piece. We will keep the puzzle and they will be able to grow up and see all the names of people who donated to put that puzzle together for them and be a part of
bringing them home!

We have 911 puzzle pieces left as of today!

Our updated financial need is $19,706.00 - Can you please help us save these children?

K-LOVE story on our family!!

Not too long ago we had the opportunity to meet Sherree from K-LOVE at a marriage seminar.
The story is below of what happened and today Sherree contacted me to have me write out our story so it could be shared on the radio with Scott and Kelly!

Thank you LORD!
Thank you Sherree and Thank you K-LOVE

Enjoy...

We listen to K-LOVE all the time and our 8 year old son Austin knows it as "Positive, Encouraging K-LOVE" We are in the process of completing an international adoption of our two children in Eastern Europe. It has been a long hard process but is going to be worth it all when we bring our babies home! As we listen to K-LOVE and hear the stories of people doing things to make a difference in the lives of others, Austin tells me every time we need to share our story of hope and love.

He asks all the time if we can call into "Positive, Encouraging K-LOVE" to share our adoption story with you and ask for prayers for our journey. We had tried calling for a number of days into the contest/request line and could never get through. He was so persistant that we HAD to share our story with "Positive, Encouraging K-LOVE" because "I thought that we could get more people to help us becauseI know there are a LOT of K-LOVE listeners that care about adoptions and saving orphans, I just know there are!" So, we persisted and found a number that worked. He called in himself to the station and asked as they answered the phone.. "is this Postitive, Encouraging K-LOVE?" the lady told him yes and asked what she could do for him. He simply asked for prayer for our adoption. He wanted help to save his bubba and sissy. He asked for them to pray for our paperwork and fundraising process so we could go and save his bubba and sissy from the orphanage. He left a message with his request and all of his contact info if anyone wanted to call back and ask questions. I was so proud of him and it melted my heart to know he cares so much about these two children who are lost without a hope for a future with a family. When we went to the marriage seminar and he saw that K-LOVE was there, he said "MOM! We HAVE to go tell our story to K-LOVE!!" I promised him we'd find someone to share it with and ask for prayers that night after the conference. He was such a trooper to stay up late and wait patiently to share our story with Sherree and she was so kind to listen and tell him she would pray for our family.

Since this time our paperwork has gone through with flying colors and been processed ahead of deadlines. We can truly see God at work in our lives and see him answering our prayers. We leave in 2 1/2 weeks on December 5th to get our two new additions, our son, Adrian who is 13 years old and our daughter, Ava who is between 6 and 8. We are still working on getting all her info!

We have always had a heart for the fatherless and have known we'd adopt for years. God has blessed our every step and cleared the way when there seemed to be no way. We still have a long road ahed of us as we travel accross the world to get our children and welcome them into our family. A double adoption like this (adopting 2 children at the same time) costs approximately $35,500. With God's help, friends, family and strangers that have listened to God's urging to help us we have raised $15,794.00 leaving a balance to be raised in the next 18 days of $19,706.00.

We are working very diligently to have fundraisers and share our story everywhere we can and TRUSTING God that HE will provide! We know he hasn't called us and brought us this far to leave us. We know all of the Cattle on a thousand hills are HIS and that as much as we care for and LOVE thse kids that he LOVES them even MORE and he wants them here with us just as we do! We sincerely appreciate all of the love, support and encouragement we get from K-LOVE everyday. Thank you for listening and sharing our story.

Van's and upated need

We worked last night at Van's Pig Stand in Norman and had a great time!
Thank you to everyone who came out and supported us.
We were able to share our story with several new people.
We weren't as busy last night as we were last week so we were able to spend more time with each person that came in and answer questions and share our story.

The staff was so welcoming and we had friends that came and helped us - Thanks Gina and Logan!!
The kids loved helping in the drive thru again and going around to the tables to help clear them off and even deliver food... we had to do that one with help! LOL

With all of our Van's money from last week and our tips from last night
and a few other donations,
we raised another $346.00!!

That takes our need down to $19,706.00!!

We are only 18 days away from leaving to meet our son and daughter and we can't wait!

We are trying to come up with other ideas of how to raise funds and get the word out over the next 2 weeks as we prepare to leave.  If you have any ideas we can do in that short of time let me know~

We are still doing our puzzle fundraiser -
Don't know what that is??
Check it out..

I wanted to share this song that God gave me this morning as well...

Oh what I would do to have

The kind of faith it takes
To climb out of this boat
I'm in
Onto the crashing waves
To step out of my comfort zone
Into the realm of the unknown where Jesus is
And He's holding out His hand
But the waves are calling out my name
And they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times
I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
Time and time again.
'Boy, you'll never win!'
'You'll never win!'

But the voice of truth tells me a different story

The voice of truth says, 'Do not be afraid!'

The voice of truth says, 'This is for My glory'

Out of all the voices calling out to me

I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant
With just a sling and a stone
Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors
Shaking in their armor
Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand
But the giant's calling out my name
And he laughs at me
Reminding me of all the times
I've tried before and failed
The giant keeps on telling me
Time and time again.
'Boy you'll never win!'
'You'll never win!'

But the stone was just the right size
To put the giant on the ground
And the waves they don't seem so high
From on top of them lookin' down
I will soar with the wings of eagles
When I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus
Singing over me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

God speaks to me through so many things and this song was one this morning.

I will have more info to update in a bit ....

Stay tuned! :)

Blessing in disguise...

So, tomorrow is Bryan and I's 5th Wedding Anniversary.
He's up to something...

I was debating even celbrating it this year b/c of our financial need for the adoptions, but we have come a long way and deserve to celebrate our love and our wedding vows.

We had originally said we'd go on a cruise for our 5th year ....
God gave us a plane ride and 2 new kids instead! :)
I'm happy with that!!!

Anyway, tomorrow (Friday) is our anniversary and Saturday is Bryan's 35th Birthday.
Those are two big events I don't want to just pass by without any recognition so we are going to celebrate afterall.  Thankfully it is DATE NIGHT at our church tomorrow so childcare is a breeze - and only $5!!!!
SCORE!

So, he comes home tonight, we eat dinner.. it was delicious by the way!!
Country style ribs with homemade sauce, corn and bread.
YUMMY!!

So we eat and he says, me and the kids have somewhere to go after dinner.
I DID NOT want them to leave!  We're already gonna be gone from them tomorrow night and busy with family and friends all weekend.  We were last weekend too and I really enjoy it but was really looking forward to a family night tonight with just us.

I was really sad when they left..even asked why they had to go! lol
I love my kids man!!

They left and I decided I would spend my time sewing or cleaning and neither of those sounded appealing...
watch tv?
no..
bubble bath?
did that last night .. already had a shower today.. nah..
play on the computer?
boring.
what to do?
Well, I told someone last night that I like to curl up with a good book to relax and I sure could use some relaxation.  I have several books I am working on and decided I'd plop down with them in my comforter with a bag of peanut butter m&m's (don't you judge me)  ha

I sat down and began to read this book I got from Mardel's clearance section for $1!! SCORE! ha

It is a book about your prayer life.
I have been reading a LOT about prayer in the past months and how it changes things.

I finished one book on prayer last night and decided I'd start the other today.
I read through the introduction and the first page of the first chapter and was like wow, I need a highlighter!  So, off I went to get one and come back to my cozy spot.

I flipped to see how many pages were in this chapter and though pfft..just a few, dude I'll read through this whole book in a day or two!  Short chapters like that .. easy read!

Oh, but let me tell you, the information that is packed in those 3 little pages is enormous!!
So much so that I felt I needed to share it with you all on here.
So, get ready to be amazed and enjoy what I learned tonight from my alone time.

This book is called "A Journey to Victorious Praying" by Bill Thrasher.
Probably the best buck I've ever spent and I've only read 1 chapter!!!

I am just going to share with you my highlighted parts and pray that God speaks to you through this like he did to me!

The chapter starts out with a quote from Jim Cymbala... this was eye opening to me...

"I discovered an astonishing truth:
God is attracted to weaknesses.
He can't resist those who humbly and honestly
admit how desperately they need Him."

He goes on to talk about how he heard a Christian leader tell about applying the principle of first fruits to his time.  He give the first moments of a day, the first day of the week and the first few days of a new year to the Lord.  He decides to make a note to do this the following January for himself.  He DELIBERATELY entered a year TRUSTING GOD  that he would do specific things in his life during that year.

These were the 3 things he asked God for that year:

1.  He prayed for God to allow him to see the beauty of His character in a new way
2.  To be OVERWHELMED with His personal love for him
3.  To understand in a fresh way what it meant for Christ to BE HIS LIFE.
(note.. BE his life.. not be in his life)

What is prayer?
It is an attitude of helplesness.
This attitude of helplessness is not meant to drive you to anxiety but rather to drive you TO GOD.
In other words, prayer is helplessness PLUS faith.

Faith is simply coming to Christ with our helplessness.

I am going to write that again...

FAITH is SIMPLY COMING to CHRIST with our HELPLESSNESS.

WOW

It's that easy!!

He goes on to talk about using our "needy moments" to promote the attitude of helplessness that can give birth to true prayers.

He says one year he asked God to give him clear insight into his own unhealthy fears.

For example, he says to ask the Lord, "What are the things I say or do not say and the things I do or do not do that are motivated by a fear of rejection?"

The relevance of that question is that we are to seek God in prayer at every point of our fears... at EVERY POINT OF OUR FEARS!!

Look at Psalm 34:4  "I sought the Lord, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears."

As we seek God at our point of fears, we need to LOOK for SPECIFIC promises that can transform our fear responses INTO FAITH RESPONSES.
(that's good) Can I get an AMEN?? :)
He goes on to tell of a story where he was asked to do a radio show and answer caller's questions about prayer to which he replied he'd pray about it.. He was afraid he might not be able to answer the questions.. he sought God and was assured by Psalm 67:7 that God blesses us, that all the ends of the earth may fear him.  He says he saw the principle that...

I can count on God's blessings as I seek to benefit others.

This spoke MOUNDS to me!  We can COUNT ON GOD's BLESSINGS as we are seeking to save these children!!!  HE blesses those that are working to benefit others!

In Philippians 4:6 God commands us to be anxoious for NOTHING
and he goes on to tell us how to process our anxiety.
Every time you are tempted to be fearful or anxious, view it as a prompting of the Lord to pray!!

LIGHTBULB!

God uses 3 words to explain the process..
1. Prayer
2. Supplication
3.  Thanksgiving

In Prayer we talk to God about our anxiety.  We may even need to ask him what it is that is bothering us.

In Supplication we petition God and tell him what we would like him to do about it.
You will never have REAL peace until you do.

In Thanksgiving you turn your attention away from the problem and to God.
Thanksgiving links your heart to God as you praise him for his knowledge and concern of the situation as well as HIS DESIRE TO CARRY THE BURDEN!!!

This next part really hit me good!!

Casting our anxieties on the Lord

He talks about how in 1 Peter 5:7 we are tod to cast our cares upon Hom for he cares for us.
He goes on to talkabout how Abraham offered up Isaac on the altar that his faith was "perfected"
 (James 2:22)
It was "perfected" in that God's goal for Abraham had been reached.

His goal is to train his people to TRUST HIM with THE MOST PRECIOUS THING OF THEIR LIVES.

The most precious gift of God to Abraham was his beloved son Isaac.
He had had lapses in his faith previously and had taken matters into his own hands before when fear stuck him .  At this time he had come to the point that he could trust God with his most precious gift - even when he was asked to do something he did not fully understand. (Genesis 22; Hebrews 11:17-19)

This is when it hit me..

What is YOUR "Isaac"?

Are you willing to surrender the matter to God and realize that He is able to guard what you entrust to him?

(2 Timothy 1:12 -That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause for shame, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.)

What YOU try to control is up to YOU to worry about and work out... Let this battle be used of God to raise up many times of precious prayer.

I talked to God about my "Isaac" tonight.

I cried and prayed and was so honest with my heavenly father b/c I can be b/c he loves me and he knows what I am thinking and feeling but he wants me to tell it to him.  He wants me to open up and share with him my every thought and my every concern.  He wants me to praise him and acknowledge all that he has done and will continue to do.  He wants my whole hearted devotion.  I KNOW he loves me, he loves Adrian and Ava and HE LOVES YOU!

Why not talk to Him right now about your "Isaac"?

Bryan and I went into the prayer room at church tonight after the service to ask for those prayer warriors in attendance to cover our family and our adoption in prayers.

It was a great experience.  Everyone was so welcoming and encouraging and excited for us.  They could see God's hand at work in this whole process and were claiming victory for our family on this financial need to complete the adoptions. We all prayed together for the kids to be protected and safe while they wait for us to come.  We also prayed for traveling mercies and for every need to be met.  We claimed VICTORY in JESUS' name because these are HIS KIDS and he loves them more than we even do and he says he sets the lonely in families.  He has appointed us to be their family and he will provide.  It was so refreshing hearing others pray the word over us and claim God's promises with us.

THANK YOU Prayer team!

They definately had it right when it was said that our faith has grown in this process.  It has so much!  You never know how little your faith is or how weak it is until it is ssssssssssttttttttttttrrrrrrrrrrrettttttttttttccccccccccccchhhhhhhhhed!

STRETCHED! :)

I did that for dramatics! ha

I am so amazed at what God has done in our family and how he has blessed every step of the way. He has made a way where there seemed to be no way.  God will make a way!

He has been our guide and held us closely to his side!
He will make a way!

I am truly in awe of what God is doing and all the different angles he is using our adoption story. I can't wait to see what he has planned for our family in the coming days, weeks and months!

I am truly blessed beyond words and honored to be chosen by God to carry out one small part of his plan.

Thank you Lord for choosing me.

Updated Puzzle Fundraiser

We are doing a "Puzzle Fundraiser" to raise the necessary funds to bring Adrian and Ava HOME!
We need to raise $20,302.00 in the next 2 to 3 weeks and we need your help.

There are a couple of ways that you can donate towards our puzzle fundraiser. First of all you can use the I want to be a part of the puzzle button to make a donation on our blog http://newhornerfamily.blogspot.com/ Second, you can send us a message on Facebook and we will send you our contact info.

Thank you ahead of time if you are able to help us to make this HUGE step in bringing our children home! There is a lot that has to happen to have the funds to bring them home and this is something we cannot do alone.

If you cannot donate at this time please pray for the process to go smoothly and for the needed funds to be raised and paperwork to be completed as quickly as possible. You can also help us by spreading the word about our journey and fundraiser with everyone you know by word of mouth, your blog, email or Facebook.

Remember only $10 helps put a piece of the puzzle together for our precious angels.

Thank you so much for all your prayers, love and support of our journey to bring home our children
Adrian and Ava HOME!

We currently have 921 pieces available on the puzzle - once those are purchased that will be an additional $9,210 for the adoption!  Almost HALF of what we have remaining.

Will YOU be a piece of the puzzle?

What a night!! THANK YOU!

WOW - THANK YOU GUYS for coming out tonight to support our adoption at Van's!!

We had a GREAT turn out!! Just in Tips alone we made $122.06
We'll know on the proceeds tomorrow!! :)

Thank you so much for spreading the word and coming to eat!
We had a good time and appreciate you all so much!!

We really had a great time - a HUGE Thank YOU to Mark and Nina for allowing us the opportunity to come and work and raise money for the kids' adoptions.

We were greeting ever so kindly and treated with such respect and kindness.

Al the Manager was such a sweet blessing.  He allowed the kids and I to come and work in the drive thru and share our story with the people coming to eat.

Bryan held down the lobby and we all worked to deliver food, get untensils, clean up and refill drinks.

We had a great time!! The kids want to go back tomorrow and do it all again! :)

They had such a blast and are learning what it is to be a servant to others.  They were amazed at how kind and generous everyone was.

The kids took turns opening the doors for customers and welcoming in the guests.

Austin was seating people for a few minutes.. that was short lived -He liked the other jobs better! LOL

Lexi and Austin loved to spray and wipe down the tables and the trays.

Ayden enjoyed giving out the thank you cards with our blog link on them.

Lexi was cracking us all up tonight with her charm in the drive thru - she was winking at people as she asked them if they'd like to donate towards our adoption and thanking them for eating at Van's tonight.
So precious!

Our friends Andrew and Brooklyn also camed to help us out with refilling drinks and cleaning tables.  Andrew then decided to join us in the Drive thru!  I really wish I'd have taken my camera!!
They were having a blast!!

I was one proud Mama tonight!

We also had a minute to sit down and eat and it was superb!

Lots of food!!
It was so neat and encouraging to our spirits to see each of our friends there and to talk with those who came on a referral of a friend.  Thank you all so much!
I am in tears at how much love and support was shown tonight!

We are TRULY TRULY TRULY grateful for your support!

We are another $122 closer to saving our children!

We've had several of you make very generous donations and so here's the latest updates of expenses outstanding.

What does that mean?

We will have our in country appointment set so that means we leave to get them a few days before that appt .. it's a 24 hour flight!!

When will that be??

We are not sure till we get it but it COULD be as early as 1 week after that!!

We will be praying for God's timing and provision for our travel date and expenses.

Can you go without the money?
NO.
We must have the funding to be able to go.

Can you Reschedule if you don't have it.
Nope.
We get our date and that is it.  We go!

What if you don't have the money?

We WILL have it! God called us to it and brought us this far.  He sets the lonely in families and He WILL provide it for us one way or another!  We are FULLY TRUSTING GOD!

We have done as he asked and taken the leap and are free falling into his arms.

Please prayerfully consider what your part is to help us in the process.

Orphans are all around us. Please pray about what YOUR part is. We are all called to care for the orphans. Whether it's to adopt, sponsor someone who is, give your time or resources, we can all PRAY. We all must DO something. Do what God has called YOU to Do.

Thank YOU for reading this and for YOUR prayers and support!!

We are so thankful for you all!

Need to know what to pray for?

Pray for our Facilitator as he works to get our daughter "paper ready".

Pray for our SDA appointment to be set for late November or Early December.

Pray for Traveling Mercies.

Pray for the remaining financial need to be met.

Pray for our children's hearts to be prepared and open to meeting us and joining our family.

Pray for our children and us as we travel literally acrosss the world.  Time adjustments are going to be tough.

Pray for peace of mind and health for our family as we prepare to leave.

Pray for our neighbors who will be caring for our dogs and watching our house while we are gone.

Pray for our puppies and our fishy while we are gone.. they are very important to our family!
We'll be mising them!

Pray for our family that will be here missing us during the holidays.

Pray for the airfare to remain low for us to purchase at the discount rates for our trip.

Pray for all of the orphanage caretakers and director as they prepare for us to come and complete our adoptions.

Pray for the other children in the orphanage that will not be coming home with us as I can only imagine how heartbreaking that must be to see your friends join their new family and you being left behind.  Brings tears to my eyes just writing about it.  Please pray for those kids!

Pray that others will be touched by our story and that God will open the hearts and minds of those he has called to come after us and adopt their own children.

Pray for our friends the Malones, the Dickinsons, the Hatmakers, the Peepers and others that are in the process of adopting or helping to work to save the orphans of this world.

Pray for those that are in the foster care system that there will be loving homes that can and will take these children in and literally save their lives.

Pray for the foster parents and families all over our state and across this nation including several friends of ours such as the Barbers, the Walls, the Binghams, the Carpenters and the Fashimpaurs.

Pray for the children that are entering these homes that they will see Jesus in their temporary homes and learn to turn to him as he will save them!

Pray for those that have already adopted and are home such as the Carpenters, the Malones, The Redmans, the Dickinsons, the Edwards, the Gowers and many more across this great nation!

We have been SUBMITTED!!!!

WAHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

We have been submitted!
We have been submitted!
We have been submitted!

Ok, Alecia, you are OBVIOUSLY excited about this - what on earth does it mean to the rest of us??

Being submitted in an international adoption means this-
ALL your paperwork is DONE that is needed to get you THERE!
ALL we are waiting on is our notification of our SDA appt which determines our travel date.

SDA appt is our appointment in country where we get to meet our children and start the finalization process over there for our adoptions!!

I know there is a lot of strange terms involved in this but the jist of it is that we are on the COUNTDOWN to leaving!!  We are just waiting for our travel date...

Oh and $21,625.00

Of which includes the Facilitator bill - $13,355.00 - can YOU help us?

*Why is that so much?? What does the Facilitator do?

The facilitator is the person that walks you thru the adoption process. He takes care of a translator for us, transportation arrangements, housing arrangements, court papers, copies, meetings and visitations for us.. they schedule and handle all of our affairs while in country as well as make sure we get the right children and get everything completed!

We also need help to pay for :

Airfare Budget: $6000.00

Visa for both Adrian and Ava $800

Medical exams for Adrian and Ava $200.00

Passports for Adrian and Ava $600.00

Immigration i600a papers for Ava - $670

ALL of these needs have to be met to complete our adoptions.

What is our estimated travel time as of now??

3 to 5 weeks

When will you KNOW for sure your travel date?

Within 2 weeks!!!

Can you wait??

Well, we have to but really  - NOOOOOOOOOO  We are so excited!!!

Do you have any other events coming up that we can help spread the word about?

Why, yes, YES we do!!

If you have some out and need more let me know!

You can save your spare change over the next week or two and donate that - it ADDS UP!!

You can decide as a family to "adopt" our children for Christmas- instead of a gift, take what you would have spent buying a gift for them and donate it to help bring them home.

We still have several ADOPT t shirts for sale - S-XL are $15 and XXL and up are $17

Remember that what you do to help save these kids will be a gift of LIFE to them.

Will YOU help the least of these....

Matthew 25:34-45

34“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40“The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’

41“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44“They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45“He will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
