Updates on the blog!

Hey Hey!!

We have had several of you ask for an updated breakdown of our costs - where we are at, what we still need, what we have covered.  I have sat down and crunched all the numbers and have updates for you!!

We've even made it simpler for you to click on a button on the right of the blog to donate towards each item you'd like to help cover.. for example: airfare, medical exams, ect..

We have already covered the costs for housing, transportation, food while there as well as our home study, immigration paperwork USCIS for Adrian, background checks, apostilling, overnighting fees, passports for us and our kids here, as well as our medical exams and application fees.

We still have to pay the following:

Airfare budget $6000

Facilitator for BOTH adoptions $17,000 - have $3000 towards this cost - NEED $14,000
**Why is that so much?? What does the Facilitator do?
The facilitator is the person that walks you thru the adoption process. He takes care of a translator for us, transportation arrangements, housing arrangements, court papers, copies, meetings and visitations for us.. they schedule and handle all of our affairs while in country as well as make sure we get the right children and get everything completed!

Visa for both Adrian and Ava $800

Medical exams for Adrian and Ava $200.00

Passports for Adrian and Ava $600.00

Immigration i600a papers for Ava - $670

Can you help us?  We can't do this alone!  We need YOUR help!  Please pray and see what you can do to help bring these kiddos home to a future and a hope with a family that LOVES them dearly!

BIG post!!

It has been a BUSY week around here!!

WE GOT OUR I-171 H this week!!!

What does that mean??

That is our FINAL APPROVAL NEEDED for our paperwork to head to the facilitator in Eastern Europe!!

We got it on Monday - got all the papers in our Dossier packet (adoption paperwork) compiled, notarized and apostilled (basically a REALLY EXPENSIVE notary of the notary) $350!

Tuesday we "overnighted" it - it arrived there TODAY - FRIDAY!! YIKES!

It was also a VERY expensive overnight.. $158!!!

It traveled all over this world!  It went thru a few states then off to GERMANY and then POLAND and finally the Ukraine.

Super excited!!

What does this mean?

What is the next step?

We should have our travel date in a few weeks!!!

Then we are ready to travel right???

Welllllll emotionally yes!!

Financially .. No... :(

We are WORKING HARD though to change that!

How can I help?

Donate what you can.  Every little bit adds up!

Spread the word.  Share our story.  Ask your friends and family to consider helping us.

Would you forgoe a Christmas gift this year to help save the lives of 2 children with no hope for a future?

Could you give a gift of life to these two children instead?

Really think what you can do - YOU CAN make a difference!

We are having a garage sale this weekend and next - 2 different locations... clean out the garage, spare bedroom, closets, attic - donate your used items that you don't need anymore.

We are selling popcorn, pies and suckers - take order forms to work and church and sell some items to help bring them home.

YOU CAN HELP - the question is What will YOU do?

We have piggy banks that you can keep and fill up over a week or two with your spare change - it adds up!

We had a great turn out at the garage sale yesterday - we counted $400 and believe we still had another $100 come in after that - so $500 in ONE DAY from GARAGE SALE DONATIONS!!!

Where does that leave us as far as our financial need?

How long do we have to reach that?

BEST ESTIMATE is 4 to 6 Weeks -

This is to save two children - that is not a huge amount when you think about it!  That brings them here to a loving family with open arms and open hearts to love them FOREVER and give them a future and a hope!

Won't you do your part?

Life is about so much more than our everyday mundane tasks we have to do and more than material things.  Let's work together to help give LIFE to these kids!

Let's break the numbers down a little bit and make it easier to bite -

How do you eat an elephant?  One bite at a time!

How do you climb a mountain?  One step at a time!

Let's take that next step!

That's ONLY 231 of you STEPPING UP and donating $100!!

What if you can do $500?

How about $1000?

Or more?

Pray and ASK GOD What HE would have YOU do to help save these orphans!

Homemade pies

Well, we are at the end of our paperwork journey and now are waiting for our travel date!  Thank you JESUS!!!  We have tried to come up with some more creative and good fundraiser ideas and I stumbled upon an extra pumpkin and decided to try my hand at homemade pumpkin pie using fresh pumpkin.  I tweaked the recipe a bit and WOWEEE It was delicious!!  I had several people encourage me to start this as a fundraiser especially with the holidays coming up so.. here you go!!

Everything is homemade from the freshest ingredients and made with lots of LOVE!!

Each pie will sell for $20 suggested donation to our adoption.

You can order them by clicking on the paypal buy now button on the right of this blog or you can mail a check with your order to our home.  Contact me if you need our address.

I will make them as you order them unless you request a specific date such as Thanksgiving Eve or something like that. LOL

I have had lots of people try it and they have all had nothing but good things to say about it!  I hope you enjoy it as much as we have and know that you are helping save 2 children with each pie you buy!  They are freezable and are super delicious!

Please feel free to share this with all your local friends and family in the Oklahoma area - we need all the support we can get to complete this adoption.

Love you all!

Teary, achy and longing heart today...

Not that today is any different in my longing in my heart to save the orphans, but today was especially hard.

I have shed many tears today as I look at the mountain ahead of us but at the same time realizing that the mountain in my eyes is only a mole hill in my Father's eyes.

I am praying that God will give me His eyes and his vision for how this is all going to work out.

I know he would not call us to this to leave us hanging.

I know that most people are last minute people..

Does that make it any easier?? NO!

I wish it did.  I am learning to TRUST God more completely and fully every day that passes.

I ache that we are so close with our paperwork and realistically should be leaving in 5 to 6 weeks and yet we are so far from our financial need which has grown to an additional $25,000 needed by then to get both kids.  We have raised a little over $12,000 so far and need $25,000.00 more.

Then when I talk to my Father about it He reminds me that all the cattle on a thousand hills is HIS!

He made all of us and all of this and He CAN and WILL come through for us.

What good would it do for it to be easy peasy.. other than relieve my nerves a bit?? lol

None really.

In this way, he is going to show his awesome power and mighty provision just in the knick of time!

It is all in HIS timing.. NOT mine..

We all know if it were mine.. we'd be gone and back by now! LOL

Well, God has a plan.

He knows who can give.

He knows whose hearts to stir and he knows EXACTLY how we'll obtain each and every penny that is needed to complete the adoptions.

God is a good and gracious God.

Not only that, but he is MY FATHER!

I am a daughter of the KING!

He's got it covered!

I am learning to TRUST Him more!

I do ache and cry and long to hold them in my arms and bring them home and love on them and care for them and give them a home with us.  God wants that for us too!!

We have been so blessed already and I know that NOTHING is too big for my God!

Everything I have is HIS and everything I need is HIS and I am HIS and He WILL Take care of his OWN!

When I am down and I think about how much I want to just get them home, I know that God is their Father too and he wants that for them too!  He cares even more than I do that they get home with us and are with their forever family.

I have to trust him and know that he will provide!

Please pray that God will move the hearts of those that he has destined to give to help save our children.

Please pray that God will give our family the peace that we need to get through this time of waiting and yearning.

Pray for our kids both here and there as they ache to be together.

Nothing breaks my heart more than to know I am a world away from my babies and I just want to get to them and bring them home safely!

Ayden sat with me today and cried reaching out for his bubba on the computer screen today and telling him over and over that he loved him and just wants to come get him.  That broke my heart but also gave me hope that as much as that hurt my heart to see my baby crying for his bubba that God saw that and he too cares and will make it happen and will also love it when those boys are together and happy as brothers.

Lexi in her sweet prayers prays for her bubba and that God will give her a sister everyday.  Today she decided she wanted to look for one on the Eli Project website and was just oohing and ahhing over each one.  She has such a big heart and she was just saying can we get that one? Can we bring her home too? What about this one?  What about that one? She wants to fill the house full with kids that need families!!

Austin has been asking for weeks to call or email "Positive, Encouraging KLOVE" (yes he calls it that ; O) to tell them about our adoption and to ask for prayers and if they might tell others about us.  He tried so hard to get in to them today but we realized we were calling the contest line! HA  We got home and he immediately looked up their phone number and called to ask for prayer for our adoption.  When we went to the bank to get the money to pay for the appostilling we have to get done tomorrow there was a sign  that said insured for $100,000 and he got so excited and was saying that if he had $100,000 he'd go and buy as many kids as he could .. and of course a wii and a TV for his room to play with all his siblings! lol  :) He just kept asking how much do we need and what else can we do to get it?  He then told me that after he grows up that he wants us to adopt more so he can too and then they can grow up together.  My 8 year old already has a heart for orphans!!  He wants to be like Jesus!  He tells  me all the time he just wants to be like Jesus and love and give children a home.

I am so proud of my kiddos and so thankful I'm their momma!  God has truely blessed me and I am so gratefull!!  I can't wait to see what he has in store for us with the future kiddos!

Time keeps ticking.....

Since our last update several things have happened.

We did our fingerprint appointment last week and it was so easy.. if only everything in this process were as easy as getting our fingerprints done! lol

I know it will all be worth it in the end!
Just looking at his picture and seeing his friend Erik here and seeing that it can happen carries me through.

God is so good!

As most of you know now, we have been struggling with DHS on getting the requested documentation to support the fact that I was the victim of the abuse in my previous marriage and that I did complete the suggested counseling classes and leave the situation.

Well, after MANY calls to DHS and finally to our Congressman who got on their case, we finally got to who we needed to talk with to get the court order to release the records.

Our social worker / homestudy lady Rachel had to get in touch with their attorney (DHS) and have them prepare a petition for the court to sign off on to get the records.  This happened last Tuesday.
We had our fingerprint appt on last Thursday.
Typically you would get your 171 (immigration approval) to finalize your adoption a week later ( Yesterday)
We did not get this document of course b/c of the hold up with the docs from DHS..
I talked with Rachel this morning and she has received the documents and is now preparing her response to send to the USCIS (immigration).

Please pray for her as she is working to prepare her response to explain the situations and to provide the proof necessary to back us up.  This letter is very important and is now the only document needed to finalize our paperwork to send off to his country to get our travel date (dossier).

We are still a ways away from our financial need at this point we need a little over $13,000 to get to him.

Now, here's some news you may not be aware of and I feel like I should share our hearts with you and the new need financially.

We have prayed about and agreed that we want to adopt a second child.  A daughter.  It is in our best interest financially and otherwise to do this adoption at the same time.  The cost to go again would be another $25,000 and that is no small feat.  If we are to go ahead and adopt a second child on the same trip it cuts the costs dramatically b/c you are already there in country and have the paperwork already processed.
This will cost us approximately $7,000 is the latest estimate we have.

We have not chosen another child at this point but are wanting to raise the funds so that when we get there and God says, that is her...that is your daughter that we can say YES, that is her and YES we will bring her home with us too!

Now, in addition to this request and addition of financial burden, we also have another financial need.  It looks as though we will need to take our 3 children we currently have with us.  We have not been able to find anyone to keep them for the time we will need to be gone.. approximately 6 weeks.
Also, as it appears now, we will be gone for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.  We do not want to be away from our family that long period but especially not during the holidays!

We are currently checking the numbers to find out how much more this will raise our expenses but it looks like it won't be that much!  Flights for them of course will be an added expense of atleast $3000 and that is IF they stay where they are at right now.  We will also have to have more to cover the larger apartment we'll have to rent and of course food and transportation costs while there.

So, please pray about this and see what God has for you to do to help us.

We KNOW beyond a Shadow of a doubt that God will provide!

Thank you for being willing to support our family in prayer and in financial support!

God Bless you!
